Adam on July 1, 2010, departed the Blackhawks as a free agent and signed at $1.15 million annually with the Dallas Stars a two-year deal. Besides the expiration of his contract with the Stars, Adam on July 1, 2012, signed a four-year deal at $1.8 million annually with the San Jose Sharks, reuniting with a Campus of Wisconsin teammate Joe Pavelski.
