Solomon Alijah Lewis Vera-Tucker is a popular American football player who is currently playing in the National Football League (NFL) as a guard for the New York Jets. Alijah was a college football player at USC, where he was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection, and in 2020 he was awarded the Morris Trophy. In the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft Vera-Tucker was selected by the Jets.

Alijah redshirted his true freshman season and played as a reserve guard in all 12 of the Trojans games and during his redshirt freshman season he played on special teams. The Associated Press named Alijah first-team All-Pac-12 Conference. Alijah regarded entering the 2020 NFL Draft, though decided to go back to USC for his redshirt junior season. Alijah reported that he would opt out of the season to concentrate on preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft after the report that Pac-12 would postpone the 2020 season. After the Pac-12 disclosed that they would resume fall football, Alijah changed his decision to opt out.

In the first round (14th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft Alijah was drafted by the New York Jets. On July 20, 2021, Alijah was signed by the Jets to a four-year rookie contract worth $15.88 million. Alijah was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team, was named the Jets starting left guard, and began 16 games there.

After the Jets signed left guard Laken Tomlinson, Alijah was named the Jets’ starting right guard in 2022. After an injury to George Fant, Alijah began at left tackle in Week 4 thereafter shifted to right tackle after an injury to Max Mitchell in Week 5, and began the next three games. In Week 7 Alijah suffered a torn triceps and on October 25, 2022 he was placed on injured reserve.

In 2023 Alijah came back as the Jets starting right guard. Due to injuries, Alijah moved to right tackle in Week 3. In Week 5 Vera suffered an Achilles injury and on October 11, 2023 he was placed on injured reserve.
