Andrew Humphrey Biography

Andrew Humphrey is an Emmy award-winning meteorologist, and reporter at WDIV-TV Local 4. He is the first and only Detroit meteorologist with two degrees in meteorology. He is the first and only broadcast meteorologist in America and the world with a degree in meteorology from MIT.

However, Humphrey is proud to have earned the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) distinction and delivers science and technology reports for “TechTime with Andrew Humphrey.”

He came to WDIV from the Fox News affiliate station WUPW-TV in Toledo, Ohio, where he was a chief meteorologist. Before being chief, Humphrey was seen around the world on CNN and CNN International and got his start in Washington, D.C. at NBC’s WRC-TV and then Fox’s WTTG-TV.

Wright Museum of African American History and serves (and has served) on the board of multiple alumni organizations, conservancies, non-profits, and professional societies.
