There are stars. Then there are superstars. But for our next profile, we really have to start a new category of megastar. She is one of the most famous celebrities on the planet, with a huge personal fortune that also makes her one of the wealthiest women in music.
Her incredible musical talent has also ensured that she has played some of the biggest events and venues. Even the best Super Bowl betting sites mentioned her name when she was the star of the halftime show a few years ago.
We are, of course, talking about Queen Bey, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. We are going to celebrate her life and career and tell you all about how she has risen to the very top of her profession. We may even find time to mention her almost-as-famous husband!
Beyoncé Biography
Is it possible that you have never heard of Beyoncé? An American singer, songwriter and successful businesswoman, she first came to prominence as one-third of Destiny’s Child. She recorded five studio albums with the R&B-tinged pop group before setting out on her own solo career.
Every album release is now a social phenomenon, with fans and media all across the world waiting for the next album to come out. Beyoncé has also appeared in a number of films and attracts attention wherever she goes. Her Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in 2013 became the second-most tweeted moment in history, nine years after singing the national anthem before the big game.
Beyoncé Personal Details
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4th, 1981 in Houston Texas. She has one younger sister, Solange, who is also a singer and has also achieved a number one solo album – making them the first sisters to ever have done that. Beyoncé’s mother is Louisiana Creole and she can trace her family tree back to families of French aristocrats from the southwest of the country.
Beyoncé Career
First auditioning for parts in all-girl groups at the age of eight, Beyoncé has been involved in the entertainment world all her life. Her early success made her father decide to give up his job as a sales manager to manage the group Girl’s Tyme, an early version of what became Destiny’s child.
Along with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Beyoncé began to get commercial success as Destiny’s Child in 1997, when their major label debut song was included on the Men in Black soundtrack. In November of that year, No, No, No was released and became the group’s first major hit.
More number ones and Grammy awards came in quick succession over the next four years until Beyoncé decided that she wanted to strike out on her own. Both the other two members of Destiny’s Child have enjoyed considerable solo success too. Beyoncé’s first solo recording was on Jay-Z’s 03 Bonnie and Clyde but her first album, Dangerously in Love, featured the worldwide smash hit Crazy in Love.
Beyoncé has gone on to release further albums, to great acclaim, produced movies, and even the teaser clips for future work just about break the internet. He worldwide tours are also incredibly successful and she has just completed her latest.
Beyoncé Husband and Marriage
We have already mentioned him briefly, but it is worth noting the fact that Beyoncé is married to rapper and businessman Jay-Z, making them one of the most important and influential couples in all of entertainment. The two married in a private ceremony in 2008 and have been able to keep their lives relatively private ever since.
Rumors of an affair preceded the release of Beyoncé’s Lemonade album – and many of the songs included hints and accusations by the singer towards her husband. By that time the couple had already had their first child, Blue Ivy, who is now a singer in her own right. The family extended still further in 2017 when it was announced that Beyoncé had given birth to twins, Rumi and Sir.

Even taking Jay-Z out of the equation, Beyoncé is an incredibly wealthy person. In fact, her estimated net worth of around $540 million makes her the seventh richest woman in America. When you combine her wealth with that of her husband, the total gets nearer to the $3 billion mark, making Beyoncé and Jay-Z the richest couple in music – if not the entire celebrity world.
Much of her most recent earnings have come from the huge income of the Renaissance World Tour. There have been estimations of over $2 billion in ticket sales alone – and she is rumored to have made around $150 million from the European leg of the tour.
Obviously, Beyoncé continues to bring in a lot of money from continuing record sales, but she has also commanded huge figures for private performances. Then there are the movie deals and fashion company ownership to help boost the bank balance still further.
L’Oreal and Pepsi are just two of the high-profile endorsement deals held by Beyoncé and she is regarded as a hugely likeable and marketable star.
