In January 2006, Brian had his first taste in journalism, when he was first hired at WIDR FM as a news anchor. Though, after anchoring at the station for six months Abel left and relocated to North Dakota. He was hired at WDAY from October 2013 to April 2015 as a news anchor and reporter. Brian also worked for only seven months at WDAZ as a news anchor before joining KSHB-TV in April 2015.
He worked for two years at KSHB before joining WXYZ-TV, where he still serves to date. Abel was first hired as a news reporter, though, four years later he was promoted to the weekend evening anchor. After working in that position for nearly three years, Brian was reassigned as the station’s evening anchor.
