From the pastry of entertainment to the field of sport, the ocean of social media, and the pool of government officials! From each and every corner of the world, most especially Africa felt the loss of the Black Panther King, Chadwick Boseman, who recently lost his battle against colon cancer.

Coupled with the loss of Black Mamba this year, the loss of the Black Panther took the world by storm as everyone from anyone showed their support and encouragement to the family she left behind through the use of social media.

The superstar is known to have acted in some great movies in the past from the days of The Express in 2008, through which he became a mega superstar with his leading role in 2016 Black Panther and Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The American actor later featured in “Da 5 Blood” in 2019 which was set to premiere this year.

Although, Mr Boseman did not land the leading role in Da 5 Blood, but his presence in such a movie had cleaved the movie fanatic with the right anticipation and acceptance trajectory. Day 5 Blood and Chadwick Boseman seemed a couple with a direction.

Netflix digitally released Da 5 Bloods worldwide on June 12, 2020. It received positive reviews, with critics praising its direction, story, themes, cinematography and Lindo’s performance.

However, the movie traditionally was written by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo in 2013, the script was re-worked by Lee and Kevin Willmott following the pair’s BlacKkKlansman (2018). The cast joined in February 2019 and filming began a month later, lasting through June and taking place in Southeast Asia. With a production budget of $35–45 million, it is among Lee’s most expensive films.

Da 5 Bloods is being targeted as the favourite by BetOnline at +800 , this means if you invest $100 you could win $800, and it makes a lot of sense because the movie got some strong ratings and is excitedly accepted across the globe.

In hindsight, the late Chadwick Boseman’s work on “Da 5 Bloods,” which tells the story of four Vietnam veterans traveling back to the country to find the remains of their friend (Boseman) who died in the war, as well as the gold fortune they hid, was even more impressive given his circumstances.

The film holds an approval rating of 92% based on 252 reviews, with an average rating of 7.97/10. The site’s critical consensus reads: “Fierce energy and ambition course through Da 5 Bloods, coming together to fuel one of Spike Lee’s most urgent and impactful films.” On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 82 out of 100, based on 49 critics, indicating “universal acclaim”

Furthermore, Richard Roeper gave the film four stars out of four, while writing for the Chicago Sun-Times, saying: “The picture, the script and director Lee all deserve nomination consideration, as does the lush and booming score by Lee’s longtime collaborator Terence Blanchard…

Whitlock, Lewis, Peters and Boseman deserve supporting actor conversation, while Delroy Lindo should be an instant contender for best actor.” Richard Brody of The New Yorker wrote that the film “runs two hours and thirty-four minutes, but it’s not a second too long. On the contrary, it feels compressed, bustling, and frenzied with its dramatic energy driven by a career-best performance from Delroy Lindo.”

David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter called the film “as timely as today’s news,” writing: “Lee deftly steers it all full circle in a series of brief wrap-up scenes that are both fancifully tidy and deadly serious and frequently brilliant film to close on a profoundly affecting note of hope and catharsis. Structural flaws notwithstanding, this movie is a gift right now, and there’s no other director that could have made it.”

With general acceptance and an excellent rating so far, the death of the American super will further purge the entertainment fans all over the world to further dive in the direction of the Boseman last movie.  “He is a trooper” Mr Spike Lee remarked to the late actor in his last movie that he never complained. He was there every single minute, in the moment, and his performance is testament to what he put into that role and all his roles.

Clarke Peters said that “no one knew he was.” Honoring Boseman, Peters said he was more than just a Marvel hero.

So will the movie be remembered for a much longer time?
