Pepper began working full-time for News4Jax in January 2017, but he has been a part of the team since 2005 when he started stepping in as a sports anchor. Cole, a Kansas City native, has been covering sports in Jacksonville since 1996. He has worked as a play-by-play announcer for the Suns, Tomcats, Jacksonville University, Sharks, The Bolles School football team, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Pepper has worked on several radio stations, including serving as Sports Analyst on WJCT on his weekly section on First Coast Connect, since 1997, when he was the studio host for the Jaguars Radio Network and aired weekly radio broadcasts covering the team. Before moving to Jacksonville, Pepper attended the University of Kansas and surrounded the school’s teams for the Associated Press and the Kansas City Star. Cole can usually be found around something involving barbecue when he isn’t working…cooking, eating, or judging — occasionally all three simultaneously!
