She became the 1999 Michigan Junior Miss and was able to travel all over the state during her senior year of high school, eventually contesting in America’s Junior Miss (presently known as Distinguished Young Women). While she was at the university, she worked for a student-run television station, WOLV-TV as the Chief Weather Forecaster, and she was President of the Society of Women Engineers.
Up to that point, Courtney was only the second-ever intern to be employed in Detroit, MI at WXYZ-TV where she served for two years as the Associate Weather Producer for her mentors, Paul Gross and Chuck Gaidica.
After she graduated, she took a break from the weather and she came back in 2011 serving in Elkhart, IN as the Weekend Meteorologist at WSJV-TV (FOX28) up until the summer of 2016. Also, she serves for Girls on the Run Michiana as 5K Director and Community Engagement Coordinator.
During her free time, she loves singing, acting, exercising, puzzling, volunteering, visiting the beach, going to Disney World, and spending quality time with her large family.
