Dion Lim is a widely recognized American journalist who has worked for KGO-TV/ABC7 as a news anchor and reporter since October 2017. She previously worked as a lead anchor for CBS Tampa Bay’s 5 p.m./6 p.m. and #1 rated 11 p.m. newscasts in the country’s 11th largest market.
She also served as the face of NBC Charlotte, anchoring primary 5 p.m./11 p.m. newscasts in the country’s 22nd largest market, which has around 1.2 million television homes. Dion also used to work as a weekday morning anchor at KMBC-TV (ABC). Dion created marketing possibilities to boost the prominence of the television station during her time there by building the consumer franchise, her Daily Deals with the most-read blog for ABC Kansas City.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, she was working at KGO-TV. Dion had previously reported on attacks on Asians, including one on an old man collecting cans in San Francisco, but she noticed an increase in anti-Asian attitudes during the pandemic.

On a PBS NewsHour broadcast, Dion was also asked about her coverage of anti-Asian violence.
Most notably, Dion has scheduled a confrontational interview with San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin in January 2021. Dion questioned him throughout the interview about a tragic vehicle accident caused by Troy McAlister, a parolee Boudin’s office had previously declined to charge due to other breaches.
