He is also a SiriusXM NBA Radio commentator and co-host. From 1991 to 2002, he was a member of the New York Knicks, the Vancouver Grizzlies, the Seattle SuperSonics, and the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA.

During the 1991 NBA draft, he was selected by the New York Knicks in the first round, 12th overall. Greg was chosen as a good defender and remained with the team until 1995. During the expansion draft, he was selected first overall by the Vancouver Grizzlies and played for two seasons. In addition, he has played for Seattle, Portland, Chicago, and Milwaukee. He retired in 2002 while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
His broadcasting career began after he retired when he joined ESPN as an analyst for NBA coverage on both ESPN and ABC. On December 13, 2008, he took over as CBS Sports’ college basketball commentator for Clark Kellogg.
Also, he worked as a color analyst for the YES Network for the 2012–2013 Brooklyn Nets season. He collaborated on the project with Mike Fratello, Jim Spanarkel, and Ian Eagle. In addition, he has been a commentator in the NBA 2K video game series since NBA 2K16.
Greg was arrested in Washington on January 16, 2015, after being charged with soliciting a prostitute. CBS and Turner Sports banned him following his arrest, and he secured a deferred prosecution agreement on February 11. He completed 32 hours of community service and avoided difficulty for four months.
