Janet was diagnosed with skin cancer in January 2020 and informed Loose Women via video call from home due to COVID-19 constraints. During the COVID-19 outbreak, Janet appeared on This Morning regularly to discuss the government’s political decisions with Matthew Wright. She did, however, have a video call from her home in Kent.
Her career began as a fashion writer and columnist for the Daily Mail, where she rose to the position of deputy fashion editor in 1969. In 1971, she was named the Evening Standard’s fashion editor. When London Broadcasting Company first debuted, she co-hosted a mid-morning show with Fleet Street columnist Paul Callan. In early 1975, she was the first editor of Sell Out. In 1975, he also worked as a correspondent for LWT.
Janet hosted Saturday Night People and created Twentieth Century Box, which was hosted by Danny Baker. She was the editor of the Network 7 series on Channel Four beginning in 1987 and was responsible for the discontinuation of the long-running music show The Old Grey Whistle Test.
