Jay Cost is a prominent American journalist, conservative political historian, and elections analyst. He presently writes for The Weekly Standard and National Review.
Previously, Cost wrote “HorseRaceBlog” at RealClearPolitics and has also written widely on the influence of big business in American political parties, the Founding, politics, and civic virtues among other topics.
He released a book titled Spoiled Rotten: How the Politics of Patronage Corrupted the Once Noble Democratic Party and Now Threaten the American Republic in 2012. In this book, he argued that interest groups have taken over Democratic Party. The journalist repeatedly called for USA president Barack Obama the underdog during the 2012 presidential election.
