Before joining the New York Times, Wegman served as a legal news editor at Reuters, The Daily Beast, and Newsweek as the senior editor.
Previously, Jesse served for The New York Observer as the managing editor. He received a Soros Justice Fellowship In 2010 to write a book about jailhouse lawyers. Before that, the journalist served for various National Public Radio programs as a producer and reporter.
