In January 2017, Dolan joined the WLKY morning news team. She’s back in Kentucky after two years on the radio at WCPO in Cincinnati, where she grew up.“Ohio is my home, but Kentucky has won my heart,” says the newlywed, who is looking forward to visiting her spouse in Louisville. Julie had previously served as a morning anchor at WLEX in Lexington from 2012 to 2014.
Prior to that, Dolan spent five years in the Evansville area, reporting frequently in Western Kentucky. Governor Steve Beshear appointed her a Kentucky Colonel in 2012 for her excellent community work.
Dolan’s peers nominated her for an Associated Press Broadcasting award in 2014, and she was chosen as Kentucky’s second-best TV news anchor. After developing a summer broadcasting program for a select group of students, she was honored Volunteer of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville in 2011.
She has served on a number of nonprofit boards and committees during her career, including The Ronald McDonald House, CASA, the Salvation Army, the Girl Scouts of SW Indiana, and, most recently, People Working Cooperatively, based in Indianapolis.
