Sun attended Hupan University and in 2011 he became the cover figure of Yazhou Zhouka and Davos Global Youth Leaders in 2014. He was titled CNTV’s most noteworthy new entrepreneur in 2015 and from 2015 through 2017 he was titled in Forbes China 30 Under 30.
In June 2019, he placed the record-breaking $4.6 million bid to have a private lunch with Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, before canceling it to widespread surprise. In January 2020, The lunch with Buffett eventually happened.
At Christie’s New York of the Beeple non-fungible token (NFT) collection Everyday: the First 5000 Days, he was the underbidder on the historic $69M auction, on 11 March 2021. He also took part in a $65 million funding round in Animoca in October 2021.
He announced in December 2021, that he was the winner of the New Shepard auction with a bid of $28 million to be the first paying passenger to fly in July 2021 on the Blue Origin vehicle. But he was unable to fly on this July 2021 mission due to a scheduling conflict.
But, he bought (allegedly with the $28 million auction bid, which he paid to Blue Origin in 2021) privately a full flight of New Shepard for himself and plans to choose five other partakers to fly with him into space in late 2022. He became a diplomat for Grenada after retiring as the CEO of TRON in December 2021.
