Kash Doll began her career performing in Detroit clubs, schools, and charity events. She later signed with a local Detroit recording company, but the deal fell through. She then began building a following on social media by posting short videos of herself rapping. Drake invited her to open a show for him on his Summer Sixteen tour stop in Detroit via Instagram.
In 2015, she released a video for her single “Run Me My Money,” which went viral. Keisha vs Kash Doll, her mixtape, was released the same year.She also made an appearance on Big Sean and Metro Boomin’s single “So Good” in December 2017.
After being released from her previous contract, she released an EP called The Vault on streaming platforms on July 16, 2018. One of the EP’s music videos, “For Everyone,” has received over 10 million views on YouTube.
In August 2018, she signed a record deal with Republic Records. She then released her first single, “Ice Me Out,” as part of the deal. Moreover, she released a single titled “Hustla” in April 2019 that highlights her experiences working in strip joints. She stated that she is attempting to raise awareness and advocate for women in that industry.
