Krystal Ball is a well-known political analyst in the United States. She currently co-hosts the progressive podcast Krystal Kyle & Friends with Kyle Kulinski. Since May 2021, Krystal and Saagar Enjeti have hosted “Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar,” an independent podcast and video news programe on YouTube.

Previously she worked as a political candidate and MSNBC television personality, as well as a regular contributor to the Huffington Post and as a previous co-host of The Hill’s Rising with Saagar Enjeti. She was also the Democratic Party’s nominee for Congress in Virginia’s 1st congressional district in 2010, losing to Republican incumbent Rob Wittman.  In May 2017, she established the People’s House Project, a political action organization dedicated to Democratic objectives.

Her second book, The Populist’s Guide to 2020: A New Right and New Left Are Rising, co-authored with Saagar Enjeti, will be released on February 8, 2020.

She and Saagar Enjeti left The Hill in June 2021 to launch an independent program that was broadcast as a podcast and video news show on YouTube. Called “Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar”, the show gained about three hundred thousand subscribers within a week.

In 2010, she ran for the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Virginia’s 1st congressional district, but was defeated by Republican incumbent Rob Wittman. Besides, her being lost by a margin of 63.90% to 34.76%, the previous candidate was ranked by Forbes Magazine as position 21 on the magazine’s “The Top 25 Most Powerful Women Of The Midterm Elections”.

During the campaign, Krystal advocated for education reforms like as charter schools, the use of technology, alternative teacher credentialing, and paying teachers six-figure incomes. She also advocated for a lifetime prohibition on prior members of Congress from lobbying.
