Formerly, from June 2015 to November 2021, Kyle served at NEWS 7 KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa as a Meteorologist. While Kyle was working there, he reported on multiple winter storms, tornado outbreaks, and recorded cold and during the historic August 2020 derecho Kyle was out in the field with the station’s storm-chasing vehicle.
After a meteorologist visited his school Kyle’s interest in weather started. While he was in the third grade, a tornado touched down close to his school and he became fearful of the weather which turned into a passion. Kyle served at WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois as a Weekend Meteorologist and Multimedia Photojournalist from April 2013 – June 2015 after he graduated from college. Also, he worked in Rockford, Illinois at WIFR, TV6’s sister station as an intern.
He worked for Northern Star Newspaper in DeKalb, IL as a Weather Forecaster for one year and three months, from March 2012 to May 2013. Furthermore, he served at Northern Illinois University Cooperative Weather Station as a Cooperative Weather Observer from September 2012 – May 2013.
