Linval Clement Joseph is a popular American football defensive tackle playing for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. He played college football at East Carolina. The New York Giants selected him with the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft and signed a contract on July 31, 2010. Linval started all four of the Giants’ wins in their 2011 Super Bowl run when they held the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and Atlanta Falcons to an average of 14 points per game. In his first season as a Giant, he finished with eight combined tackles, six of them solo.

In his second year, Linval was moved into a full-time starter role starting 15 games and playing in all 16 contests. He started in Super Bowl XLVI as the Giants defeated the Patriots by a score of 21–17. On October 21, 2012, he forced a fumble and recovered it, helping the Giants prevail over the Redskins 27-23 against the Washington Redskins.

On December 15, 2013, he notched seven tackles and a sack against the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and finished his last season as a Giant with 59 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble in 15 starts. On March 11, 2014, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings a five-year, $31.5 million deal including a $3 million signing bonus, $12.5 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $6.25 million.

On August 5, 2017, Linval signed a four-year, $50 million contract extension with $31.5 million guaranteed with the Vikings. Linval started all 16 games, finishing second in the league among defensive tackles with 68 tackles. He was named to his second straight Pro Bowl on January 22, 2018, and ranked 83rd on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2018. In 13 games and starts, Joseph finished with three sacks, 44 total tacks, and one forced fumble in the 2019 season.
