Louise Minchin Biography

Louise Minchin is a British journalist, television presenter, and previous news presenter. Minchin was a regular anchor on the BBC One program Breakfast starting in 2012. She co-hosted the show three days a week with Dan Walker.

On June 8, 2021, She announced live on air that she would be leaving BBC Breakfast “after the summer”, after presenting the show for twenty years.

On September 15, 2021, Minchin made her final appearance on the show. She co-hosted Real Rescues from 2009 until 2012 alongside Chris Hollins and Nick Knowles. Since 2010, She has guest-hosted The One Show a number of times.

Louise Minchin Career

Louse started her career in the Latin American section of the BBC World Service during a year in Argentina, the Today program, Five, and several local radio stations. She toured the country in 2006 in a converted bus meeting England fans as part of the World Cup coverage for BBC News. In 1998, Minchin began work for Radio 5 Live and married David Minchin the same year.

She resented many of the station’s main programs. This included Drive and Breakfast. Louise served as a regular BBC News Channel presenter between September 2003 and April 2012, initially working from 7 pm to 10 pm alongside Jon Sopel. She then presented the 2 pm to 5 pm slot, also with Jon. Minchin shared this shift with Emily Maitlis. Louise was also one of the chief relief presenters for BBC News at One until April 2012.

In 2006 and 2007, She was a relief presenter on BBC Breakfast while Kate Silverton covered for chief anchor Sian Williams. Louise continued to co-host the program after Williams returned. She then served as the regular weekend presenter of the show from May 2009 until April 2012.

The BBC announced in December 2011 that Minchin would replace Sian as the main presenter of BBC Breakfast along with Charlie Stayt and Bill Turnbull when the program moved to Salford.

Also, she was a co-presenter of Radio 5 Live’s Drive program for a time from November 2012 with Peter Allen. Louise has worked on You and Yours, BBC Radio 4’s daily consumer program as an occasional presenter.

BBC announced in June 2021 that she was to leave BBC Breakfast after almost twenty years of working on the show. Louise was announced in November 2021 as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, a twenty-first series and finished in seventh.
