Lucy Verasamy Career
Verasamy worked as a meteorologist at the Press Association’s weather center after graduation, writing national and international weather reports for television, radio, and newspapers. Verasamy joined Sky and became the daily weather presenter on the Sky News breakfast show Sunrise after completing a work experience placement at the Sky Weather Centre before becoming a weather forecaster.
As part of their Green Britain campaign in 2007, the Sky News website launched a feature called Climate Clinic – Ask Lucy, in which Verasamy answered questions from the public about climate change. She was also a contributor to the Sky News blog The Weather Girls.
Verasamy joined the newly launched ITV Breakfast show Daybreak as a weather forecaster and climate correspondent on September 6, 2010, alongside Kirsty McCabe. McCabe left the show on February 7, 2012, leaving Verasamy as the only weather forecaster. She, too, left the show on August 2, 2012.
Verasamy joined ITV Racing as a weather expert in 2017 and joined Good Morning Britain as a relief weather presenter in August. She was the face of M&S Fresh Food Market promotions in 2019. Due to the Coronavirus, the new ITV travel shows How To Spend It Well on Holiday, co-presented by Verasamy and Phillip Schofield, was canceled in March 2020. It will now be re-aired at a later date.
