He finally decided to play for the Iowa Hawkeyes and competed mainly on special teams and on a defense that had 11 players who would go on to be selected into the NFL.

On March 9, 2017, Micha signed with the Buffalo Bills to a five-year, $30.50 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $8 million and $14 million guaranteed. Head coach Sean McDermott named him the starting free safety to start the regular season, alongside strong safety Jordan Poyer. Micah made his Bills regular season kick-off in their season-opener against the New York Jets and recorded three solo tackles, intercepted a pass by Josh McCown, and broke up a pass in the 21–12 victory.

In 2018, he started 15 games at safety missing one game after suffering a groin injury. Micah completed the season with 58 combined tackles, 5 passes defended, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery. On March 5, 2021, he signed a two-year, $19.25 million contract extension with the Bills keeping him under contract through 2023. On September 24, 2022, Micah suffered a neck injury in Week 2 and was placed on injured reserve. In Week 3, he played against the Washington Commanders intercepting quarterback Sam Howell, one of four interceptions by the Bills during the 37–3 win.
