Michael played for four seasons for the Brown Bears. After Michael completed the season with four sacks, 42 tackles, and nine tackles for a loss he was named second-team All-Ivy League as a senior. Michael completed his collegiate career having played in 37 games and with 16.5 sacks, 174 tackles, and 29.5 tackles for loss with four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

On April 26, 2020, Michael was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Rams after the 2020 NFL Draft. In the second round of the 2020 CFL Draft Michael was drafted by the Ottawa Redblacks. On September 4, 2020, Michael was waived by the Rams during final roster cuts, and one day later he was signed to the team’s practice squad where he spent his first season.

On January 18, 2021, in his second year, Michael signed a reserve/futures contract with the team. That year, Michael played in all 17 regular season games and had seven tackles and three starts. Also, Michael played in all four of the Rams’ postseason games in that year.
