Michael Shermer is an eminent American author, science historian, The Skeptics Society’s executive director, and science writer. Shermer is the founding publisher of a publication that focuses on supernatural claims called Skeptic magazine and investigates pseudoscientific.
As an author, Shermer has published over a dozen books. Michael is best known for his engagement in debates on religion and pseudoscience. In those debates, He emphasizes scientific skepticism. Previously, Michael served as the co-host and co-producer of a 13-hour Fox Family television series Exploring the Unknown broadcast in 1999. Shermer from April 2001 to January 2019 served as a contributor to a monthly Skeptic column for Scientific American magazine.

He started questioning his religious beliefs after discussions in the natural and social sciences with his professors along with his studies.
