Michael Dennis LaFleur is a prominent American football coach who is presently playing for the Los Angeles Rams as the offensive coordinator of the National Football League (NFL). Before that, Mike worked as an assistant coach for the San Francisco 49ers, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Cleveland Browns. Also, Mike served for the New York Jets as an offensive coordinator.

In 2006 and 2007 Mike played for the Bluejays as a quarterback. In 2008 Mike began all ten games at safety for the Bluejays. While at Elmhurst, Mike was a three-time letter-winner and a team captain. Mike’s coaching career commenced in 2009 when he worked for the Elmhurst Bluejays as an offensive assistant.

After that, from 2010 to 2012 he worked at Saint Joseph’s as a coach. Subsequently, in 2013 Mike accepted an offensive coordinator role with Davidson. In 2014 Mike agreed to his first NFL position to work under offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan as an offensive intern for the Cleveland Browns. Mike went after Shanahan for the 2015 and 2016 seasons to Atlanta as an offensive assistant.

In 2017 Mike agreed to a wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator positions for the San Francisco 49ers after Kyle Shanahan was elevated to the head coach of the 49ers. Mike worked there for two years before losing his wide receivers coach position in 2019, after Shanahan added Wes Welker to his coaching staff. Mike assisted coach the 49ers to an NFC Championship that season, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter disclosed that Mike accepted a contract extension with San Francisco prior to the Super Bowl.

In 2021 Mike followed Robert Saleh from the 49ers to work as the Jets’ offensive coordinator. After beginning the 2022/2023 season with 4 losses and 7 wins, the team moved forward to lose six straight games, completing the campaign at 7-10 and losing the playoffs for an NFL-high 12 straight years. The team failed to score a touchdown in the final three games of that six-game losing streak. Mike and the Jets parted ways on January 11, 2023. The Los Angeles Rams employed Mike to work as an offensive coordinator on January 27, 2023.
