He started writing a column entitled Digital Rules. In 2014, Rich received an honorary doctorate from Northcentral University. Previously, he worked as the creator at Upside Magazine alongside Anthony B. Perkins.
Upon graduating, he served at Runner’s World magazine as an editorial assistant. Furthermore, he worked for the Electric Power Research Institute as a technical writer. Additionally, Rich met Anthony B. Perkins and they launched the Churchill Club in 1985. At the moment, the Club has over 7,500 members.
In 1989, the two also launched Upside Magazine together. The magazine was published from 1989 to 2002 and had a circulation of over 300,000 subscribers. Moreover, Rich left Upside Magazine in 1992 to create Forbes ASAP, along with George Gilder and Steve Forbes.
