Rick is among the few real-life reporters who have appeared in 24 as fictional newsreaders. He is known for appearing on Eyewitness News (1983) and ABC7 Eyewitness News in 1969. Rick broke his career in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas at the age of 19 years old while a sophomore in college.

She started his broadcasting career in 1972 as a radio newscaster for KONO/KITY, prior to moving to television. He then began his television career at ABC affiliate KSAT-TV, where Lozano served as a general assignment reporter and weekend sportscaster. He then became a regular weekday sportscaster until moving to cross-town station KMOL the NBC affiliate as that station’s six o’clock news sportscaster within a short period of time. In addition, he also served as a sportscaster for radio stations KLLS/KCCW.

Rick spent twelve years in San Antonio winning various statewide awards for best sportscaster and his sports reporting. In 1996, he was lured to the West Coast by KABC-TV as a weekend sportscaster. Later on, Rick became the station’s weekday 4 o’clock sportscaster, where he earned Emmy nominations for his work as an anchor and reporter. While there, he covered local, national, and international events all over North America. Lozano spent 13 years at KABC.
