Sara V. Farmer Wants a Wife
Farmer Wants a Wife is an American reality television show based on the British show of the same name, in which a bachelor farmer selects a potential loving companion from a group of ten unmarried city women. On April 30, 2008, the series premiered on The CW network. On June 25, 2008, the flight was canceled.
The original American version is eight episodes long and features ten females competing for the attention of a bachelor farmer. In this regard, the format was distinct from other international editions. In the United States, the Missouri villages of St. Charles, Orchard Farm, and Portage des Sioux were used as filming locations. A second American adaptation, starring Jennifer Nettles of country music, will air on Fox in March 2023.
Hunter Grayson, 31, of Watkinsville, Ga., Ryan Black, 32, of Shelby, N.C., Landon Heaton, 35, of Alva, Okla., and Allen Foster, 32, of Williamsport, Tenn. star in Fox’s new dating show, presented by Jennifer Nettles and based on an international reality concept. Each farmer will bring eight females to his farm for a chance at romance among livestock, hay, and hard manual labor. (If this seems vaguely familiar, it’s because an American version of Farmer Wants a Wife aired on the CW in 2008.)
So, who are these unmarried women fighting for the position of farmer’s wife? They are 22 to 39 years old and come from cities such as Miami, New York, and Chicago. They work as sommeliers and cyber security analysts, among other things. Farmer Wants a Wife, the first episode of the series, will premiere on March 8.
