Sophia Nicole Rosing, a University of Kentucky student, was caught on video cursing a fellow student while inebriated. While assaulting Kylah Spring, a student employee working at the front desk of the Boyd Hall dorm building, she is accused of using the n-word more than 200 times. During a video, Spring said:
“We were just trying to get her to sit down because she was drunk and falling over.” ‘Do my chores,’ she said. ‘It’s not my fault you’re Black,’ she added. ‘It’s not my fault you’re ugly,’ she added. ‘You’re fucking ugly and Black.’ She is also accused of assaulting the officer who arrested her. When the police showed up, Spring continued, “the girl kept trying to bite and kick the police officer, and they really couldn’t get that much information out of her.” She was held captive.
Sophia was booked as a Jane Doe at the Fayette County Jail because she lacked identification and refused to identify herself. She was detained and charged with public intoxication, assault, assault on a police officer, and disorderly conduct after being found to be intoxicated. Rosing Jr. and Algie were present at Sophia’s arraignment, which she watched via video link. She pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released after her parents posted a $10,000 bond.
