Steven Novella is an eminent American assistant professor and clinical neurologist at Yale University School of Medicine.

Novella is a host of The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe podcast and is known for his involvement in the skeptical movement. He is also a Fellow of the Committee for GWUP and Skeptical Inquiry (CSI).

His academic specialization is in more specifically, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), neurology, neuromuscular disorders, and neurophysiology, myasthenia gravis, and the treatment of hyperactive neurological disorders.

The Teaching Company, an American company located in Chantilly, Virginia distributes and produces The Great Courses in a series of college-level audio and video courses.

In May 2005, Steven started The Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe (SGU) podcast with his friends Evan Bernstein and Perry DeAngelis, and his brothers Jay and Bob.

DeAngelis until his death in August 2007 stayed on the show. Rebecca Watson in July 2006, joined the podcast as a regular staying through December 2014. Additionally, Cara Santa Maria, in July 2015 joined the cast. Novela both hosts the show and does the editing and post-production.
