Four games into his freshman year, Jackson suffered a season-ending injury and used a medical redshirt. Before he again suffered a season-ending injury, he played in the first eight games of his redshirt freshman season and completed the year with a forced fumble and 3.5 sacks. Jackson was named third-team All-Sun Belt Conference and recorded 58 tackles with three sacks and 11 tackles for loss as he began all 12 of the Chanticleers’ games as a redshirt sophomore.
After Tarron set a school record with ten sacks along with two forced fumbles, 60 total tackles, and 13 tackles for loss he was named first-team All-Sun Belt as a redshirt junior. In his redshirt senior season, he recorded three forced fumbles, 8.5 sacks, 54 tackles, and 14 tackles for loss, and the Associated Press named Tarron a first-team All-American, the first-team All-Conference, and Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Jackson in the sixth round with the 191st overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. In Week 8 at the Detroit Lions, Tarron got his first career sack. The Eagles waived him on October 27, 2022, and re-signed to the practice squad. Tarron signed a reserve/future contract with the Eagles on February 15, 2023.
