Robinson was used as a rusher and receiver as a freshman at Nebraska, gaining 340 yards on 88 carries and recording 40 receptions for 453 yards. The Athletic named him a Freshman All-American after the season.  His role expanded in 2020, as he had nearly the same number of scrimmage yards in two fewer games as he did in 2019. He had 46 carries for 240 yards and 51 receptions for 461 yards. After the season, the conference coaches named him honorable mention All-Big Ten.

He announced his intention to enter the transfer portal and leave Nebraska on January 11, 2021.  He committed to Kentucky four days later, where he had previously committed in high school. He was the team’s leading receiver, with 104 receptions, 1,334 yards, and seven touchdowns in 13 games. His receiving yards and receptions set single-season school records. Later that year, he assisted the Wildcats in winning the Citrus Bowl.

The New York Giants selected Robinson in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut in the Giants’ 2023 season opener against the Tennessee Titans, and he started the season as the team’s starting slot receiver, recording one reception for 5 yards before suffering a knee injury and leaving the game. In Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens, he returned from injury and had three receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown as the Giants defeated the Ravens 24-20. He had six catches for 50 yards in the Week 7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
