On March 15, 2006, he signed with the Cleveland Brown. As a result of this move, he was reconnected with head coach Romeo Crennel, who was the Patriots’ defensive coordinator during his time in New England. Willie stated that he would be playing his final year of professional football before retiring in the offseason, an interview prior to the 2008 season.

Then he said that he would like to end his career with the Patriots, in 2009. During his Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony on August 5, 2015, he signed a one-day contract with the Patriots.

He joined the NFL Network, after his retirement, and served as a football analyst, where he appears on various programs, including NFL Total Access. previously, he worked in similar roles at ESPN and also Fox Sports. He has made cameo appearances in television shows such as Arli$$ and The Game. Also, he was featured in the film I Tried, with rap group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony in a small role as a detective.
