In 2010 Cedric was redshirted. Cedric began six of 10 games at guard in 2011 as a freshman. Ogbuehi began all 13 games at guard in 2012 as a sophomore. Cedric was shifted to the offensive tackle position in 2013 as a junior. The Walter Camp Football Foundation awarded Cedric first-team All-America honors in 2014 as a senior. In the 2015 NFL Draft Cedric was projected as a high first-round selection by different mock drafts as early as May 2014. In the first round (21st overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft Cedric was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Cedric was signed by the Bengals to a four-year contract worth $9.32 with a signing bonus of $5.04 million and $8.72 million guaranteed on June 11, 2015. Cedric was added to the reserve/non-football injury list by the Bengals on September 1, 2015. After Cedric recovered from his ACL injury, they were taking extra precautions. During the Bengals’ 37–3 victory over the Cleveland Browns Cedric made his regular-season debut on December 6, 2015.

Cedric was named the starting left tackle for the Bengals after Whitworth left for the Los Angeles Rams in free agency in 2017. The Bengals declined the fifth-year option on Cedric’s contract on May 2, 2018, making him a free agent in 2019. The Jets signed Cedric off the practice squad of the Texans on September 27, 2022. Prior to being placed on injured reserve with a groin injury on December 3, 2022, Cedric began four games at right tackle before, and on December 31 he was activated. The Jets re-signed Cedric on April 18, 2023, and on May 11 he was released.

The Miami Dolphins signed Cedric on May 15, 2023. On August 29, 2023, Cedric was released as among the team’s final roster cuts. The Jets signed Cedric to their practice squad on September 21, 2023, and on October 3, 2023, he was released.
