In 2016 as a true freshman Bryce received playing time, and after moving from wide receiver to cornerback Hall became a starter in the defensive lineup. During his sophomore season, Bryce continued to build, beginning every game.

In his junior year, he led all collegiate players in pass breakups and even acquiring a grade from the NFL’s Draft Advisory Board he explored the possibility of entering the 2019 NFL Draft. Bryce disclosed that he would go back to Virginia for his senior year after Virginia beat South Carolina in the 2018 Belk Bowl. Bryce suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter against Miami in Virginia’s sixth game of the season on October 12, 2019, which needed surgery. Due to that injury, Bryce ended his collegiate career and senior season.

The New York Jets drafted Bryce in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the 158th pick. On July 28, 2020, the Jets placed Bryce on the reserve/COVID-19 list. On August 27, 2020, Bryce was activated and put on the active/non-football injury list. On September 5, 2020, Bryce was placed on reserve/non-football injury and on November 9, 2020, he was activated. Bryce recorded his first career interception off a pass thrown during the 23–20 win by Jared Goff in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.
